I highly value the nation and its culture such pure and kind that makes you feel as safe as at your own home - no matter where you are and what you do. Your belongings are simply yours. Leave your stuff somewhere, everyone knows you will come and pick it up. They (your stuff) will wait for you even for hours. And you will pick up only that, what's yours. Why would I want to steal? 'It' belongs to someone else, I have no right to touch it. Thanks to my family and my religion, that's how i was raised, as well as many other people, but we all know not everyone in the world shares this value. Yet, I would never expect it to become a 'national characteristic'. Impossible? Taiwanese people prove otherwise. Thank you.
